Yes, the name Hanlon has been attributed to the law in recent years, but whoever Hanlon was, Heinlein almost certainly did it before him (and in any case, I actually used Heinlein’s specific wording) and the Hanlon’s Razor entry in the Jargon File, which helped popularize the name, even speculates the name may have been a corruption of Heinlein. I am using this particular name advisedly.
I stand corrected. I think I'll continue to refer to the classic formulation as Hanlon's, but I thank you for the information.
