It’s not entirely true that nobody’s redefining anything. Biker’s clearly hell-bent on redefining what it means to be culpable for a crime. If someone who invaded the Capitol on January 6th is found guilty of insurrection claims Trump told them to do so, and many of those who stormed the Capitol have claimed they did so on the explicit authority of Trump, then that’s just guilt by association and Trump shouldn’t be liable. If they stormed the Capitol in an attempt to overturn the results of an election even though any reasonable person should know such an attempt would not succeed, then this shouldn’t count as an insurrection or coup to him. The same goes for when someone places pipe bombs at the RNC and DNC headquarters and said bombs are disarmed before they can explode. Those sound like redefinitions to me. And something tells me that if you ask a lawyer about that, it’ll sound like a redefinition to them, too.
