That faith can make you happy, but that bliss does not yet turn an idee fixe into Truth, that faith does not move mountains, but does place them where there are none: a cursory walk through an asylum explains this sufficiently.

If this is any less true now than it was in 1888, it's only because the deinstitutionalisation efforts of the 1960s led to asylums being closed and the ones left became harder to find.
