Basically laches. Can’t sleep on your rights then claim them later to the detriment of others.

Subsidized rentals gives some people who would otherwise squat the option to rent. The property owner has the benefit of uncle sams wallet. Like I said..two birds.
To my mind, sending the state to evict homeless people isn’t really palatable aside from some genuine push to make sure that we’re punishing criminals, rather than simply punishing the poor.
That would be a waste of the property and our tax money.
