Gain any insight on how fickle and tedious automotive paint can be?
No. That has not been my experience at all. Then again, I'm not using automotive paint. I'm using sign lettering oil-based enamel. It has been genuinely a joy to work with it. It dries to touch within 2 hours, so, plenty of time to both work with it on the surface AND get to the next layers without waiting forever. It's vibrant and smooth and I learned that "1-Shot" is named that because you don't need more than one layer to get the color down and looking beautiful. And the colors mix well. I got the very basic colors and passed up the option to get peach colored paint and I'm glad I did because the colors I have can make the skin tones just as well.
But thanks for the vote of confidence.
That paint goes a long way, too. A guy I know (who is a sign painter) on a wood working site, says you can pinstripe something like 40 '50s Cadillacs with one can of gold. Wouldn't surprise me at all!
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
