Anyway, there is a difference between "house" and "neighbourhood" in case you didn't understand that. You can have a nice house in a bad neighbourhood, and vice versa.
Regardless, did you not even consider the possibility that they had to move house from a good neighbourhood to a bad neighbourhood due to her mother not being able to hold down a job?
Being skeptical is fine, but it just means you do not accept things without evidence. It does not mean you get to be an ass and start randomly insulting people.
Oh, and as for your complaint about rule 3, please read it again:
