In all seriousness, I had a no pay radio show at a local public access tv/radio station. If anyone knows what "backtiming" is I sucked at it. It is where you play a record/cd and calculate the end of the song to buttress to the spot of a break or top of the hour. But I sucked at that, never tried to grasp it, so I always picked long songs I could fade out to.
I always closed out my 3 hour public access radio show with American Pie.
I know because it’s a very well known song and you gave an insanely obvious clue.
