I'm glad you can discuss the hypothetical the question would be who's reality. I agree that not everything hypothesized is, by default, true. The only reality I can speak from is my subjective reality. The only context I can use is the context of the question, which I believe is what you're not getting. You're not steeping outside your boundaries, just the premise of the questions.I'm aware of no measurable material evidence for souls, Ive shown in several places here experiences of the immaterial, I don't claim that as material evidence. You can not have knowledge of nothing, just an absence of evidence. Yet you're making a positive claim that "we do have knowledge of death that does not include either of these things".
I'm questioning your definition of death and that is is disingenuous to say "general death" as you connote, when you're a materialist and speaking about biological death. I don't think it's a derailment at this point, but this is a discussion forum and I proposed that we start up another thread for the parameter's you're obviously questioning. What is wrong with asking for people to substantiate a story about souls and the afterlife? Nothing at all, it just takes a lot of time and energy and I'd like it to be ordered a bit. I appreciate the energy and time you've put into this discussion. I too have enjoyed our discourse and think others have as well and look forward to many more.

"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post
