Being the only female was challenging at times...today I would have a half dozen lawsuits I could file...but as for coffee...
My first day the owner and #1 boss was showing me around and along the way showed me where the coffee maker and supplies were...yeah, I was expected to make coffee...it was a different time. After our little tour he brought me to the co-owner and #2 boss who was going to show me some of the stuff that was more about my actual job. The first thing he said was to forget whatever Bud had told me about making coffee, the rest of them wanted to keep some enamel on their teeth, he was going to show me the right way to make coffee. I had no idea there was such a difference is coffee prep since I didn't drink it.
Before I got to the last part of this post I was already thinking how weird it is that men used to expect someone to make coffee for them because people can have very specific tastes when it comes to coffee. I'll drink almost any coffee, but I'm super happy to make my own because then I can make it the way I like it.
Why is it so?
