Ball control now doesn't necessarily mean run at all any more. Since the Bill Walsh era, the passing game is equally considered a ball control option. Some teams rely on short passes and screens as a sort of quasi running attack. And with the addition of RPO's in the NFL, the entire concept of run vs pass has changed quite a bit.

Why is it so?
