Here is a link to an article about the simulation theory. Some scientists believe there are experiments that can detect evidence of a simulated universe. The evidence they would look for is sort of esoteric; things like minute details that wouldn't need to be there in a simulation and anomalies in the behavior of the fundamental forces. These things seem promising, but then it makes you wonder if the designer of the simulation wouldn't know that the subjects of the simulation were looking at these things and simply adjust the simulation to account for them. Kind of makes my head hurt.
