Chappelle's at #2, second only to Bill Burr. That said,  I'm not sure how someone can objectively rank them, though. Is there some sort of RateYourMusic/TheyShootPicturesDontThey/AcclaimedMusic style consensus ranking of stand-up comedians?

Well, if we just look at the money they're getting for their Netflix specials, the top two Netflix deals are Jerry Seinfeld, who Netflix is paying just over $ 500 million to for a five year deal. Dave Chappelle got the 2nd highest payday earlier in 2016, with $ 60 million, but that was only for three specials.

Is there a reason we’re assuming that I’m not acutely aware that there’s a difference between how much money the suits at a company are willing to shell out for somebody and how good their work is right now? Or for that matter, how well it does with the audiences?
