My entire life, in my youth, and teens and in college, I was as popular as lead paint and ticks. But the great thing about being 55, is that you are not obligated to give a fuck.
I empathise. Same here at school, army, work and socially.
Yair, no fucks are given at Confused Cottage. (literally or metaphorically) Almost all the people whose opinion mattered to me have died. The one exception is married to another man and lives 1000 miles north.
Some of the cliches from my youth :
When I was 14 , my mother said "Money can't buy you love". To which I replied; "Yes, but it can buy you an awful lot of affection" (precocious little turd)
At school, when I asked one of the brothers a difficult theological question, such as the existence of evil; "'Oh, that's just a mystery of faith, we just believe" ( I kid you not)

Off Topic: The problem of evil.
In his poem 'Tyger', William Blake asks "Did he who made the lamb make thee"
The Tanakh makes it perfectly clear that the answer is 'yes':
Isiah 45:7.KJV " I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things."
In Judaism the devil is god's servant, not his adversary. How could it be otherwise? The Abrahamic god is omnipotent. How could an enemy exist for more than a nanosecond if not by god's will?
