That's not a fact. That's your opinion. As someone once said, theists do not require evidence and atheists won't accept any. Learning the difference between fact and opinion is one of the first steps in critical thinking, yes?

Why should anyone accept a naked assertion? 

I am dating Angelina Jolie. <----- So are you telling me you would blindly accept that claim? 

Critical thinking isn't a tool you use to justify your own bias. That is the flaw in your logic. Otherwise I am dating Angelina Jolie. I have more proof of my claim than you do of your God. I exist and Angelina Jolie exists, and those are objectively provable facts.

"God/god/deity" claims are "opinions" argued on apology, not neutral scientific objectivity.
