What kind of atheist goes to church?

I haven't gone to the UU congregation lately, mainly because of COVID and a desire to sleep in, but I've been a member since the early 2000s and used to be pretty regular about it.

I would think a sincere atheist would refuse to attend a church for any reason, but whatever. Maybe I'm wrong.

It's not like the air inside a church burns us or we have a universal principle of never listening to sermons. There's no reason for an atheist to go if they want to, and it could be for a variety of reasons. I would think it would be a pretty tiny percentage that would refuse to attend a close friend's funeral just because it's held in a church (or temple or mosque or whatever).
