That's the Platinum Rule, superior IMHO to the Golden Rule (don't do to others what you wouldn't want done to you). I think the Golden Rule applies here too though: who would want to be called by a name they've explicitly rejected?

Huh? Some people want to be treated like royalty and be addressed in the manner of their choosing when they clearly deserve no special consideration. This was part of the ethos of the colonial pilgrims and the American revolution. I see liitle difference between George Fox refusing to doff his hat to English royalty and my refusal play the word games of self-righteous authoritatian woke hustlers in the elite class.
