Kichi -- unfortunately for me, this thread has gone too far without me exhaustively sorting through your points and explaining why they're false.
I did not state "weed is better" in my original posting, nor the ones with Epi. Also, I was making it obvious to people that he was angry with cigarettes.
Why? The same issue I take up with all of my friends who BURN their material to get their fix, nicotine, marijuana, whatever. Incinerating the compounds pulls out the carcinogens, which are medically proven to cause cancer in a living human system over time.
Now, lucky for us, having even one cancerous cell isn't a problem. Our bodies are more than well equipped to abort the cell or attack and destroy it. This is where statistics factor in -- "how long and how fast can your body knock off the viable cancer cells, whereas how often does a carcinogen successfully convert (the failures just kill, inactivate or halt the cell) to a cancerous cell."
Anyone who incinerates something that contains carcinogens, they increase their risk.
Weed. Nicotine. All else.
If the act of burning it produces those (carcinogens), you're placing yourself at risk. Period.
For the record, I am a proud owner of a Magic Flight Launch Box, a battery powered vaporizer. I consume my weed via edible and vaporization, lowering my risk significantly than if I smoked it (I can't, because my lungs have collapsed THREE times in the past two years).
I personally dislike and desire cigarettes to go the way of the dinosaur -- extinct. I wish to all hells that every smoker on this planet could pick up a vaporizer and use THAT instead of exposing themselves to relatively HIGH risk.
But they don't.
By the way, because severe smokers end up getting fast acting cancers on average, they cost the medical system comparitively little compared to long living healthy people, who require vastly expensive protocols and procedures to deal with hitherto unknown cancers, maladies and issues that come with aging.
The severe smokers, on the other hand, die younger. Thus costing the medical system less.
It's not smokers who are a burden, it's old people.
