In my opinion, "Don't ask, Don't tell, and keep it all to yourself" is an appropriate maxim here. I could care less what some pervert is doing in his (her?) basement, trailer or office, as long as such is "out of sight, out of mind," and as long as it does not involve anyone else, especially, the innocent, above all whom are children.
As for the children who got exploited originally, it's water over the dam. As with an email that, once sent, can never be truly recalled, an abusive image or video that gets uploaded to the Internet may remain there for decades, even centuries or beyond.
I, for one, do not want to live in some despotic, Orwellian society who futility tries to right past wrongs, and in the process, simply revictimizes the old victims, and in the process, creates new ones.
