Speaking of, what's everyone favorite cakes from events. I had a "grooms cake" at my wedding and it was a red velvet, 3 layer covered in white chocolate covered raspberries. Still top 5 cakes I've ever had. I was truly high as hell though so maybe that's why it's so vivid.
I would say on vacay I gave the family dessert for dinner one night at a dessert bakery. Number one baked good is still that early gray cupcake with orange tinted cream cheese frosting....
Now I'm hungry.. off to lunch
Hmmmm....cakes from events - not sure about that.
I like pineapple upside down cake (especially the ones I make), I like some carrot cakes and I like spice cake but overall cake is cake and as long as it doesn't have coconut, I'm pretty much okay with it.
Years ago at a company where I worked we had a young lady worked for us for a couple years whose dad was an honest to goodness Swiss Pastry chef - he was even from Switzerland - that's how genuine he was. We had a tradition of having birthday cakes for employees and once Bea came to work for us, her father offered to make the cakes...OMG!!!! If we all could have figured out a way to have multiple birthdays a year, we would have. Not only were the cakes fantastic...the decorations were beautiful and tasty!
I'm your huckleberry.
