Would you have liked to have grown up there, or is this more about life now in (semi) retirement?

I recognize that I'm privileged to be able to do this. Statistically speaking, had I been born here, I would likely be poor. On the other hand, the best parts of living here don't require wealth.

It's a good question, I wish I had a more definitive answer.
