RE: Regarding the COVID 19 vaccines

Didn't seem to be the case with Oxy. Their profits increased in direct relation to their willingness to kill off their customers.
That said, while we can grant this in the general or as a point of history - the circumstances around covid, particularly in the us, conspired to make this an exception. They didn't make as much money as they would have liked, and the vaccines won't kill you at a rate higher than placebo. It goes without saying that covid can and will and has. If it turned people blue, people would still take it - as the colloidal silver racket has shown.
I can see doubting the longterm efficacy of these vaccines - especially as a good amount of us seem to be dead-set on actively doing nothing to prevent community spread and the vaccine resistant or evasive variants that will inevitably arise - but the safety? Not so much. I hope that even the most cynical and bad faith politicians of the future will look back on this flirtation with sending so many of their own base to jump off cliff - and choose some other (equally terrible, I'm sure) course of action next go round. Or maybe they'll decide to get polio 2.0 to trigger the libs, again.... who knows.
