Job would side with believers because he is a character in a fictional story where God and Satan exist, just like characters in Lord of the Rings books believe in wizards and dragons.

That's how it is with characters from the literature - they can be perfect in what their writers want them to be, unlike real people. Like when God tells Abraham to kill his son and Abraham obeys without question, or Jesus who never had a sexual thought, etc.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
