This is an incomplete thought/sentence.

Let me complete it: Only the willfully ignorant believe that Eve was impregnated by a snake.  

Of course, that's real world stuff and not the stuff of the fairy tales that consume you.

Here's why you’re a willful ignoramus... I've literally stated that at the time he impregnated Eve he wasn't a snake, he was something between a human and neanderthal so for all intents and purposes he was a human like creature, he was turned into a snake as punishment. 

"And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:" - Genesis  3:14

Got it?

Another way of reading that is that God understood evolution and cursed the snake from evolving, since he doesn’t say anything remotely like ‘I curse the and remove thy legs’. And - for the record - snakes don’t eat dust.

The Hebrew word used for the serpent in Genesis is ‘nahash’. It means ‘snake’ in the common, everyday slithery reptile sense.
