RE: Worst food/recipes

It seems that military food is either good or really bad.
In basic we had civilian cooks and the food was wonderful - especially the breakfasts.
In AIT I lived on those little ice cream cups that come with the wooden 'spoon' and grilled cheese sandwiches since the Army cooks couldn't screw up the ice cream and grilled cheese sandwiches are pretty much the easiest thing to cook. Those went fast.
At Ft. Huachuca the food in the mess hall was totally hit or miss....more miss than hit.
Peanut butter and crackers in a MRE were the saving grace of those. Though I think it was that survival peanut butter that would last for about a hundred years.
