Lemaitre explicitly REJECTED the suggestions that his theory would prove god.

Einstein firstly rejected Lemaitres theory, because he suspected religious motivations behind it, but years later Lemaitre could convince Einstein based on his obsevations. Thats the difference between a (secular) scientist like Einstein and NX: Einstein, while at first possibly having unjustified objections, was able and willing to overcome his prejudices and learn. NX is quite the opposite.
