Well I don't have a conscience and I still feel guilty. I know that doesn't make sense. It's like I feel guilty for not having a conscience.
That sounds really stupid (probably because it is). If you feel guilty about having no conscience, that means you have a conscience, because without a conscience you wouldn’t have the ability to experience guilt.
I’ll happily grant that the conscience you do have is a warped, stunted, twisted eldritch nightmare of a thing, but it’s still there.
