I know nothing about paganism except when someone tells me they're pagan or wiccan or something like that I think I have a good idea what type of person they're going to be.
As for connecting with nature it boggles my mind when people have no interest in getting out in the hillsides and fresh air.
I think there's something to just looking out over trees and sky that is good for you. Not in anyway that goes against science but in some ways that haven't really been identified by science. Maybe just in the simple way we aren't evolved to always be indoors or around cities.
On the other end of the spectrum there's those annoying hipsters who take it too far with the spirituality and the woo. They've become kind of a meme online. I don't think anyone wants to truly get back to fully wild nature, it's scary, full of parasites, flesh eating bacteria and predators.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
