Are people here too rude?

Mockery aside, I do genuinely care how I come across since I desire better communication with others.  It would be useful to know why people see what I think is politeness and dispassionate clarity as passive-agressiveness, arrogance, condescension etc.  It would also be useful for me to know why people prefer rude and insulting communication.

I do think you are passive-aggressive.  Your remark about differences in class, upbringing, etc. is exactly that.  You apparently think that you are above and better than the other members here, with a couple exceptions who happen to be as PA.

I find it difficult to understand why anyone would want to hang around a bunch of people they have such a low opinion of unless it's to feel superior.

You do you.  I don't have to like it.
