We have this weird thing here in the US called "compassion". The majority of people her are civilized people who wouldn't judge women for being the victim of rape. There are plenty of legitimate things for which to blame America, but that culture and way of thinking has nothing to do with America. If that woman was raped here, she would be shown compassion and support from the community where she lived.

Not sure. The only explanation I can think of is that people talked less about such things back then. The western world has slowly progressed into a greater awareness and openness. Islam is a cancer on humanity. What can be done about it that wouldn't harm the innocent victims?
