This is because fractions in sustained conflict will tend to equilibrate in skill and expertise. It is harder to maintain an edge than to catch up. Once surrounding states match Israel in skill and expertise, Israel will simply sink out of sight in an Arab deluge. The deluge may come in the form of war, or in the form of economic or demographic tide.
