In the Northeast we would buy french toast supplies for a severe winter storm, so go grab some eggs, milk, and bread!
ETA - the few hurricanes we've had up here, I remember my parents filling the bathtub and buckets in case we had to flush with it. Gloria and Bob were the worst up here, nothing compared to FLA latitudes
Worst weather I've experienced was the nearly 5 feet of snow in January-February 2015. I had to shovel my roof to prevent ice dams. And I'm terrified of heights. Snow banks were so high SUVs couldn't see over them. Some were over 9 feet tall. More than that was the three times a week crushing snow that had to be moved. I remember playing with my kids outside and being roughly as tall as the roof of my porch ( 5 feet of snow pack and a 6 foot tall hombre).
I've used my snowblower about 20 times since then, never for more than a foot at a time, and only 3 times last winter. Changing climate
