I believe that things can move very fast in our world and there are many instances (like right now) when I cannot really understand what is really is going on:

Benjamin Netanyahu has been sending positive messages to the Iranian people saying that the day of their liberation from the oppressive political Islamist regime is near.
On one hand I am really tired of this Israeli Palestinian conflict. I simply believe that this Arab-Jew conflict is nonsense and that it lasted for too long. No one can live like this. Not the Arabs, not the Jews.
Still Netanyahu attacking Iran and Donald Trump backing it is not such a negative development for me. Iran has been seeking to export its Islamo-fascist regime to my country since decades. I don’t want civilians to be hit. But I see any move that puts this brutal regime into difficulty as a rather positive development.
In terms of energy, proletarian dictatorship, Nazism, Fascism, Maduro style socialism, the Sandinista regime, Religious dictatorships, all types of far right populism even Chinese style communism are very similar. These are all ideologies in which a limited number of people (who happen to have all the right answers) are claiming that they came to rule the rest of us (who are ignorant and are too stupid to see the whole truth).
So that’s one side of the coin. The other side is this: Western Capitalism is also everything they say it is. Political Islam and Hamas is a joint CIA-Mossad invention. Osama Bin Laden used to work for the CIA. Before the fall of his regime, The Shah of Iran used to be a key US ally in the region.
As we see in the current situation in Ukraine. Western democracies do not automatically support democratic endeavors around the world. A good example to this is Ahmad Shah Massoud.

The day of his assassination was the day 9/11 happened. And his son is still leading his guerillas against the Taliban.
So the only problem with our current system is that it is not really a good system. Many parts of it are insufficient and populist leaders like Donald Trump don’t do anything to make it better.
So as a spiritual person I say that this has to change. I believe for instance that more programs like US Aid are needed and this in turn would allow the US in the long run to make more cuts in its military spending and as a result of this, fewer people would become populist and more people would sincerely believe in democratic institutions.
The problem with almost all religions is that they have become more political than spiritual. Which is why I believe that the average atheist is usually smarter than the average religious type
