Here is a nice quote from Senator Bernies Sanders. Back in the days I had wished Al Gore had been elected instead of George W. Bush. The Republican base did not agree with me at that time either
As we speak many Iranians are fleeing toward Turkey. Just like Iraq before the dictator Saddam came to power, most of them are people who love their country and want to live there as long as they are not being illegally detain by political Islamists or bombed by Jewish religious extremists.
While I have no choice but the joins the calls for the cessation of hostilities in order to spare civilians from both sides I must also stress that we should be pushing for a third way (the first being to let Iran do whatever it wants, the second being to attack Iran militarily).
First of all nations have a karma too. The IRI has been supporting political Islamists and several sectarian organizations in my country for years. The Shah Regime before 1979 was not a perfect regime either but the IRI is a regime without any values or sense of honor. These are people who distort everything in their own minds and feel entitled to do anything including the murder of their own people in the hundreds.
So as a person of faith I don’t feel alarmed when something hits such nations in some way. I am a part of those who believe that that’s just the way things are
/Still, most Iranians (the Iranian diaspora mainly) are talking of a third way. They don’t want to see their country turn into rubble. The dismantling of dictators by military means does not produce results in our time (Look at Libya, Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan). What they want is the international community not negotiating with the IRI anymore. They want to be heard as the true representatives of Iran. They want backing for their civil society. + More sanctions to hit the Regime (I’ve heard that Iranian Gas is still being sold to Europe via China. If more sanctions are being brought – that hit the regime, not the people of Iran – than there could be more results).
After hearing Bernie Sanders I have decided that Netanyahu is a very angry man. Still, removing the IRI threat without turning the country into Iraq or Syria (I mean the international community as a whole) that would be a sign that we are moving in the right direction (as a specie).
Besides: Trump isn’t supporting Vodimyr Zelensky because he doesn’t want to afford the costs. So how is he going to support Israel with 200 million dollars / day? (As a white supremacist of some sort)
