Granted, New York, Boston and Seattle are not going to see temperatures like this - but they are going to see temperatures they are not prepared for.

All three cities you mention are going to see sea levels that they can't manage.  That's going to be much hairier than temperature.

The question is, "How soon?" It could be well over a century. Meanwhile, temperatures will go up.

Miami and New Orleans will be flooded much sooner.
