And the majority of that grain of sand is pretty poorly ‘tuned’ for human life. Without very special help, we can’t survive at the highest elevations or underwater or under the ground. Our own star will kill us if we aren’t careful. Large parts of the planet are home to venomous animals and poisonous plants. Volcanoes can kill us from thousands of miles away.
