He does have a slight point if you read the entire article:
If every child in America went to college, you'd have an overqualified population in a few generations time; the job market would shrink, and more people would be reduced to poverty paying off student loans because they can't get a job in whatever major they did at college. Not to mention, those same students would have to spend time and money retraining in whatever low-paid job they had to take to make ends meet.
College isn't for everyone. College isn't for the elite. College is for the academic among us who wish to invest in the skills we have and develop them so we can start helping society where we are needed.
Not to worry though; there are plenty more reasons why Santorum is a terrible human being.
