Are there religious people who are non-violent? Sure. But the issue is that religion can be used as an excuse for any behavior. Are there evil secular people? Sure, but at least when dealing within a secular mindset we can at least start the conversation with reality. When actions are done for religious reasons, there is literally no way to have a dialogue about it. Their mindset is so delusional that they can justify anything they want to themselves and they have made themselves immune from rational discussion and societal standards at the same time.

This is also the same reason why any religious figure in a position of power is an incredibly dangerous thing.
