Evidence?
They had guidelines as to how to dispose waste (which doesn't seam like a big deal but those in Europe in the middle ages obviously didn't get it), staying away from the infected, burying the dead, and let's look closer at their food laws. Red meat was forbidden because it can have food poisoning. Animals that scavenge can have harmful bacteria. Why not eat shell fish? Because they eat fecal matter. There's a reason for all of it but obviously those nomadic Goatherders couldn't know all of this.
