What passes for "conservatives" in this country (more accurately, fascists by the standards of even recent American history and by the standards of the rest of the world) have been confusing "socialism" with everything to the left of arch-conservative for about 10 years now.

Correction, Conservapedia worships the icon of Ronald Reagan, who was as real as the miracle-working godman Jesus.
The real Ronald Reagan raised taxes, cut and ran in Lebanon, met unconditionally with adversaries and was in some respects to the left of our current "liberal" president.
