That these myths even NEED to be debunked, as opposed to being laughed at from the get-go as tin-foil hat wearing lunacy, is an indictment of our discourse in America today.
It's the same thing I think of when I see formal, scholarly debates on subjects like "the historicity of the Resurrection". Someday, we'll live in a rational society where Habermas and McDowell publish their opinions not through respectable publishing houses but rather in supermarket tabloids along side reports of Batboy sightings and the Bible will earn its place along side the Iliad as silly myths people once believed. In such a world, athiestforums will be as quaint at alchemydebunkedforums (I just made that last one up). We'll have to spend our time posting on some other subject.
