Like the general attitude of dogs, they are so much more interested in spending time/activities with you than cats are. Cats might come by to look at you from a distance, and then they walk off. Many dogs come right up to me, and even though not all of them are pleasant: my being there matters to them, at least a little.
It's so saddening that Pearl's getting old now...
She's still a wonderful dog, but I hope she holds out for a good set more years yet...
