I wouldn't read too much into the threats. Unlike US, Indian courts are amazingly incompetent when it comes to any matter that has made the news. This would be more of a political circus with free publicity for all involved parties than result in any noticeable legal action.

On a side note, the Jesus statue place is not far from where I live. I might actually go and check it out.
