I dunno. Maybe a recent statement that a person absolutely critical to democratic reforms "is generally regarded as a deist."
It's complete nonsense, and shows that many atheists believe what they want to believe while claiming to be intellectually honest and rational.

Thank you. At least 50 were Protestants. 1 may have been Catholic I recall. The question worth answering is whether Jesus should get far more credit for the Enlightenment, esp social enlightenment. His mission statement in Luke 4 works for the Enlightenment as well, and if you ask the leaders who most inspired them, 95% would say it was Jesus or at least his teachings (As in Jefferson's case).
