My statement was not meant to be taken literally. In fact, I rather harshly directed the comment to Christianity when there are currently other religions out there who are doing so.
I wonder though... Could still have been the literal truth if religion, in particular Christianity, had managed to retain it's grip on humanity as it did in previous centuries?
