Most atheists (not all) prefer to live in denial and claim they are facing reality.

Atheism makes no claims about reality you silly billy. Living in self-indulgence is regrettably the human condition as we put our own pursuits and interests first.

I face reality everyday, and yeah overall, its a pretty shitty life. I get abuse day-in day-out at my job. Existence is not all its cracked up to be, a brief look through history reveals that much. I graciously accept my morality for however long it lasts and await the undeniable void of eternal oblivion to come.

None of this acceptance of the real world, our lot, and the finality of death has anything to do with my atheism though.

Atheism is not a belief system. It makes no claims about reality. The moment you get that through your thick-caveman-fucking-skull is the moment we can actually get back on track to having a sensible and rational adult conversation.

They can't prove anything themselves, although the burden is on them, not us. In a slander or libel case, the burden is on the accuser, not the defendent, for good reason.
