I'm buying hosting from a reseller who happens to be a good friend of mine, and his company are involved with various big names in the industry, like XMPP and Spotify. I don't care if he owns the servers or simply leases them; he provides a good service and we've been hosted with them for years. Indeed, last year when a rogue process corrupted the hard drive, my friend spent many hours of his own time trying to recover the lost data for us, and succeeded. He didn't charge me any extra for that. Would you offer the same service for free? I doubt it.
