I speak of personal experience.
Whenever I ask girls, they give the most cliche answers. "Just be yourself" and "Be confident". They don't really tell you what they really, really want. They can't tell you to be rich, to be successful, to be handsome, to be cultured, to be active, to be educated, or whatever that is that they want. i was joking with you about the misogynist part. your post was funny and there was some truth in it. a lot of women i've bumped into would certainly lie about what they want. men and women both give each other their "demo", it's just like their intro package - major changes come after the demo plays out. many (not all) that i've known or chatted with, would certainly trade up at a second's notice - if pro athelete, singer, celeb or just someone with a ton of money comes thru. it's a shame to trade quality for quantity, but it happens often.

Well, being one of those that you mentioned is also a quality, not a quantity. We're the quantity, they are the quality.
Most people are aware of this, and therefore they give up any real hopes of dating or marrying a pro-athlete, or a fashion model.
There are some who do not look for these. I for example, would not marry a fashion model. I want to have a wife who is of a certain profession. Like for example, an engineer, or chemist.
Others, like pharmacists want doctors as their spouse.
There are many qualities in which people look for.
But they look for something.
Something specific, not something "general".
Like courage or "be yourself". You sometimes have to be something else than what you are. For me, it's not that really hard. For I doubt that there is a "genuine" Mehmet down there. There never was.
I play a theatre play in my personal life. Treat people differently, speak in different accents, use different facial mimics.
I have to, in order to maintain the social standing I have today.
This sometimes extends to women, to which I also perform the same facade.
