Keep in mind that atheism is just the lack of believe in a god. That's all. There is no "atheist way". I'm speaking to you has someone how has been in your position. Additionally, I am not a scientist. I'm a graphic designer. I make art, essentially. I'm not sure how microorganisms work, either, to be honest. I have never gotten above a C in math (even that C was a result of a professor bumping his grades). I'm not asking you to be an optimist, I'm just demanding you survive. Live and things will get better. You'll find the right cocktail. I know these thoughts aren't easy to will away, but don't give in. If you want to learn more, start with Wikipedia. TedTalks, Youtube videos. I'm sure the good people here would be happy to provide easy to digest information.
