No one "had" to be taught any of these things, and how precisely did this line of inquiry enter the conversation? Rhetorical, diversionary. "Saved" has exactly fuck all to do with anything or anyone. In specific instances where comments that would imply knowledge are made by what is proposed to be an omniscient or creator figure we would expect such comments to be consistent with factual reality. They are not. "Saved" or not. We would expect these comments to be references to knowledge and not belief, they are not. Saved or not.
