The Roman poor demanded bread and circus, and in return they gave their loyalty to the demoguague who gave that to them.
It looks like American poor would settle for even less than the mobs of Palatine hill. American poor seems to be very happy with just circus, whether that is megachurch, talkshow loud mouth, and people marching with tea bags dangling from corner of tricorn hats.
They don't even demand bread.
This kind of undemanding poor is far to vital for the scum on the political right, and they could have have these poor reproduce fast enough to give them the permanent majority.
